Baseball Game Preview: Pallotti Panthers vs. Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres

Pallotti is a perfect 3-0 against Sts. Peter & Paul since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will square off against the Sabres at 5:00 p.m. Pallotti is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Pallotti not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 14-1). They blew past Chapelgate Christian Academy 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won four in a row.

Everson Vaughan made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Steven Buckner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Pallotti's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). Makhai Barber was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pallotti always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are 6-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Sts. Peter & Paul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 18-1 to Key.

Sts. Peter & Paul's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Pallotti, their record is now 9-10.

Pallotti took their win against Sts. Peter & Paul when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
