If Living Word Lutheran wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Francis, they should've done a better job of containing Josiah Evans. The Mariners walked away with a 50-42 win over the Timberwolves on Friday with plenty of help from Evans, who rushed for 207 yards and four scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards.

Living Word Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryde Ehley, who threw for 345 yards and five TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes. The Timberwolves' leading receiver Donovan Pettis was Ehley's top target yet again, picking up 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Francis and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Living Word Lutheran, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

St. Francis and Living Word Lutheran will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mariners are set to take on their familiar foe Pius XI Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Living Word Lutheran will challenge rival Kenosha Christian Life at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
