Baseball Recap: Menifee County Comes Up Short

West Carter hit Menifee County with a nine-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Comets, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Comets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-2 loss last Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Menifee County and nudges their season record down to 5-19. As for West Carter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-10.

Coming up, Menifee County will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Cordia at 6:00 p.m. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.08 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Carter, they are taking a road trip to take on Elliott County at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
