Petoskey won the last time they faced Gaylord and things went their way on Thursday too. The Petoskey Northmen took down the Gaylord Blue Devils 56-40. Given the Northmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Petoskey's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Gaylord, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Petoskey and Gaylord's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Petoskey will challenge Clare at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a team that's only allowed 29.63 points per game. Similarly, Gaylord and St. Ignace (who has only given up 28.05 points per game) will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
