Softball Recap: Crest Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

It's playoff time, and Crest had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Parkwood Wolf Pack an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Aidan Ledbetter's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Crocker, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josi Downey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Crest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Crest's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Parkwood, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Crest nor the Wolf Pack have any future games scheduled.
