Softball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Ellison Eagles

The University Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Ellison Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellison took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on University, who comes in off a win.

University was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Belton 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since February 21st.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Ellison was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 16-1 to Lake Belton. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

University has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ellison, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

University got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Ellison by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
