Baseball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hamilton and Casteel squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hamilton had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Colts by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Huskies have suffered since March 13th.

Boston Kellner was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Jaylen Payne was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The defeat snapped Hamilton's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 25-8 record. As for Casteel, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Casteel, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Corona del Sol on the 20th.
