Recap: York Cougars vs. Northwestern Trojans

The York Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 71-50 loss at the hands of Northwestern. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for York in their matchups with Northwestern: they've now lost seven in a row.

York's loss came despite strong showings from Brenden Lacroix and Jaxon Wilkins-Graham. Lacroix scored 14 points, while Wilkins-Graham scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkins-Graham has scored all season.

Mason Mitchell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwestern, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Mitchell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kevin Jordan, who scored 11 points.

York has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Northwestern, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will play host again and welcome Lancaster, where tip off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than York in South Carolina (Lancaster is ranked 19th, while York is ranked 189th). As for Northwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Pointe at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
