 It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Coventry Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   14-10  win over the Alliance Christian Gryphons. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Coventry Christian considering their two-run performance the  matchup before.
  Shayne Hartline made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out seven batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Hartline was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Jeffrey Swartz and  Blake College did most of the damage at the plate:  Swartz  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances, while  College  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Swartz is crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   stolen at least one every time he's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  John Mark Niehls, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Like Coventry Christian, Alliance Christian also got a great game from a two-way player:  Cole Boyles. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Boyles was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing five bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Luke Fegan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in two of his six plate appearances.  Cole Smith was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Coventry Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Alliance Christian, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
