The San Jacinto Christian Academy Patriots will face off against the Tulia Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Jacinto Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, San Jacinto Christian Academy turned things around against Kress on Monday. They blew past the Kangaroos 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Jett Randolph was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had over his last nine matchups.
In other batting news, Jon Cruz was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Ben Mitchell was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tulia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-1 to Bushland.
Jarvis Pestrana was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Tulia's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for San Jacinto Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. San Jacinto Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Tulia struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
