Basketball Recap: Job Corps Takes a Loss

Job Corps was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the El Paso HomeSchool Panthers, falling 42-8. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-5.

El Paso HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lisa Lawson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Wolfram, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Job Corps' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for El Paso HomeSchool, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Varsity Opponent the next time they take the court. El Paso HomeSchool will head out to face Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Job Corps will host them at 5:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
