MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book: Alvin Henderson headlines career record updates

Auburn signee piled up 10,930 rushing yards, rising to fifth on the career list.

Alvin Henderson of Elba (Ala.) concluded a spectacular high school football career by being named to the MaxPreps All-America Team and recognized as the Small Town National Player of the Year.

Henderson is now taking his place among the all-time leaders in career rushing and scoring in the MaxPreps National High School Football Record Book.

The record book has been updated to include new entries for career passing, rushing, receiving and scoring. Over 150 new entries have been included in career passing yardage alone.

Henderson rushed for 10,930 yards in his career at Elba, which is a new state record in Alabama. It ranks No. 5 all-time behind Derrick Henry of Yulee (Fla.), Kelvin Taylor of Glades Day (Belle Glade, Fla.), Ken Hall of Sugar Land (Texas) and Michael Hart of Onondaga (Nedrow, N.Y.).

In national career scoring, Henderson finished with 1,224 points and 202 touchdowns. He ranks behind Johnathan Gray of Aledo (Texas) and Hart in both categories.

Armando Lujan of Sunray (Texas) and Sawyer Anderson of Parish Episcopal (Dallas, Texas) both finished in the top 10 in career passing yards and placed high in career touchdown passes, attempts and completions.



Lujan finished No. 10 in career passing yards with 14,600. He also finished tied for 15th with 171 touchdown passes. He is No. 9 all-time in passing attempts at 1,700 and tied for No. 8 in completions with 1,047.

Anderson ranks No. 9 in passing yards with 14,674. He is No. 31 in touchdown passes with 158, No. 42 in completions with 849 and No. 48 in attempts with 1,320.

Stone Saunders of Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.) is the highest new entry for touchdown passes at No. 3 all-time with 204 TDs. He is only the fourth quarterback to throw over 200 touchdown passes in a career.

Shane Rosenthal of Newbury Park (Calif.) was the only receiver in the Class of 2025 to qualify for receiving yards, receptions and touchdown catches. He ranks 13th all-time with 324 receptions, No. 14 with 5,197 yards and is tied at No. 22 with 62 touchdown catches.
