Soccer Game Preview: Batesburg-Leesville vs. Ninety Six

The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers will head out to take on the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Batesburg-Leesville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Batesburg-Leesville is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Strom Thurmond on Thursday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Rebels.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ninety Six). They never let Pelion get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Ninety Six considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Their offense was hitting Pelion from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sophia Somaini led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Ninety Six's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Batesburg-Leesville might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Ninety Six in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
