Basketball Recap: Jaleah Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Navarre over East Hamilton

Navarre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Hamilton Hurricanes.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaleah Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 44.8% of Navarre's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

East Hamilton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Etaliah Laboo, who put up 14 points. Arianna Calhoun was another key player, putting up nine points.

Navarre's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for East Hamilton, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Navarre wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-33 victory against Escambia on the 17th. As for East Hamilton, they will venture away from home to square off against Sale Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
