Basketball Recap: Ransom Everglades Beats NSU University for Their Sixth Straight Win

Ransom Everglades put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-47 W against the NSU University Sharks. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Sharks are ranked 241st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ransom Everglades to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nica Rosenberg, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 16 points. Rosenberg has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times she's played. Holly Clement was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Ransom Everglades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Schafenacker, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 13 points and five boards. Haley Otero-Lopez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Ransom Everglades' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for NSU University, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Ransom Everglades has already played their next matchup, a 67-38 loss against Immaculata-La Salle on the 8th. As for NSU University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-43 defeat against Saint Andrew's on the 8th.
