Recap: Jonesboro Cardinals vs. Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans
On Saturday, Jonesboro narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Greater Atlanta Christian 43-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jonesboro.
Jonesboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Naislyvia Pringle out in front who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pringle has scored at least 25% of Jonesboro's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Wright, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Greater Atlanta Christian saw an underclassman step up: Cobi Obi scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Myla Benton, who scored 8 points.
Jonesboro has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-2 record. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will take on Alcovy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Alcovy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Monday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marist at 6:00 p.m.
