Football Game Preview: Northville Mustangs vs. Cass Tech Technicians + How To Watch

The Northville Mustangs will challenge the Cass Tech Technicians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northville was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Franklin on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 35-14 victory. The Mustangs pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Northville relied on the efforts of Adam Sakowski, who rushed for 143 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and Brayden Tuiasosopo, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Sakowski's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Meanwhile, Cass Tech put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Bedford a 61-0 shutout. Given the Technicians' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Kicking Mules are ranked 180th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cass Tech's win came from a few key players Northville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Donald Tabron II, who threw for 170 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corey Sadler Jr, who gained 78 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cass Tech was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Northville's record now sits at 7-2. As for Cass Tech, their record is now 9-0.

Things could have been worse for Northville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-34 loss to Cass Tech when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
