Softball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University dropped their record down to 7-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 14-0 to the Venice Gondoliers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Venice, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games.

For Venice's part, Laila Casilla was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Casilla has posted since back in April of 2024. Jaelyn Jacobo was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither University nor Venice have any future games scheduled.
