Softball Recap: Keystone Wildcats vs. Clearview Clippers

Keystone put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. Everything went their way against the Clearview Clippers as the Keystone Wildcats made off with a 19-2 win. Winning may never get old, but Keystone sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Brooklyn Modock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Modock has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Modock was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base.

In other batting news, Keystone got a massive performance out of Hannah Gurich, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Anna Wright, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI.

Keystone pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Clearview, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Keystone didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-4 win vs. Columbia on the 30th. As for Clearview, they will head out on the road to face off against Bay at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
