Given the Fighting Blues' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Chargers are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parry McCluer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Bath County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
