On Friday Banning's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-20 W against the Garfield Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pilots also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2021.

Banning's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alonzo Ruiz, who rushed for 49 yards and one score, and also threw for eight yards and one touchdown. The Pilots also got help from Christopher Cobarruvias, who showed off his sure hands for 102 receiving yards.

Banning's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Garfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Banning will challenge Palos Verdes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pilots 11.8, the Sea Kings 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Garfield, they will square off against Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
