Basketball Preview: Bunn Wildcats vs. Louisburg Warriors
Bunn and Louisburg are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Bunn Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Louisburg Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bunn focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Bunn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Franklinton. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jevon Wright put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted ten points in addition to two steals. Another player making a difference was Isaac Bailey, who scored eight points plus seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Louisburg lost to Bunn at home by a 48-31 margin two weeks ago.
Despite the loss, Louisburg saw an underclassman step up: freshman Micheal McLean went 7 for 14 en route to 18 points plus four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Sheldon, who had four points along with six rebounds.
Louisburg's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Bunn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
