Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Potomac School's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Potomac School won the last time they faced Georgetown Visitation Prep, and Ava Sewall did her part to make sure it happened again. The Potomac School Panthers were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs on Friday thanks in part to Sewall, who went 7 for 10 en route to 21 points and three steals. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Georgetown Visitation Prep had strong showings from Jocelyn Gill, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards, and Madison Doerr, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points. Gill has become a key player for Georgetown Visitation Prep: the team is 8-3 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Becca Safavian, who posted six points and five boards.

Potomac School has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.
