Volleyball Game Preview: New Heights Christian Academy Cougars vs. Verona Wildcats

New Heights Christian Academy is a perfect 7-0 against Verona since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will face off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. New Heights Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Verona will be coming in after a loss.

New Heights Christian Academy had won two straight games and Lilly Plassman did her part to make it three on Monday. The Cougars came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against McDonald County thanks in part to Plassman, who had 25 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

New Heights Christian Academy took McDonald County into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 21-25, 25-18, 18-16.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Verona took on Everton on Monday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for New Heights Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9-5.

New Heights Christian Academy took their win against Verona in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
