Softball Recap: Sacopee Valley Comes Up Short

Sacopee Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-11 to the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bridget Landry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brianna Eastman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Sacopee Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gray-New Gloucester, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacopee Valley will venture away from home to challenge Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Greyhounds will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gray-New Gloucester, they are taking a road trip to take on North Yarmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
