Basketball Game Preview: Del Norte Knights vs. Bosque Bobcats

The Del Norte Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Bosque Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Del Norte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Bosque likes a good challenge.

Del Norte easily dispatched Bernalillo on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Del Norte fell just short of Albuquerque Academy by a score of 60-57 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Bosque posted their biggest victory since December 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cuba with a sharp 68-48 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Bosque's win came from a few key players Del Norte will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Josiah Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Kalishman, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points.

Bosque smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Bosque's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Del Norte, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
