Volleyball Recap: Zephyrhills Comes Up Short on the Road Against Wesley Chapel

Zephyrhills kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Zephyrhills was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wesley Chapel's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-20.

Wesley Chapel found their leader in sophomore Irelynn Hughes, who had 22 digs and three assists.

The victory was the third in a row for Wesley Chapel, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Zephyrhills is taking a road trip to square off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wesley Chapel, they will take on Mount Paran Christian in a tournament on Friday.
