Basketball Game Preview: Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles vs. Flagstaff Christian

The Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Flagstaff Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Flagstaff Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Arrowhead Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Arrowhead Christian Academy barely beat BASIS - Prescott the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Coyote with a sharp 48-26 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Coyote recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Arrowhead Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Rubio out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Rubio a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alia Lind, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Arrowhead Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Flagstaff Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to Arrowhead Christian Academy on the road by a 33-16 margin last Monday.

Arrowhead Christian Academy strolled past Flagstaff Christian in their previous meeting last Monday by a score of 33-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
