Basketball Recap: Greely Comes Up Short

After flying high against Falmouth last Monday, Greely came back down to earth. The Greely Rangers took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeport Falcons on Friday. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Greely dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Freeport, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greely and Sanford will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Freeport, they will face off against Falmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeport is facing Falmouth at the right time seeing as Falmouth is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
