Softball Recap: Eustis Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Eustis entered their tilt with Keystone Heights on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Indians get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won eight matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Roden looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emmy Luke was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Kendall Kemp also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Eustis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Eustis pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Keystone Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Eustis will host Mount Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Keystone Heights, they will challenge Bradford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
