Basketball Recap: Arapahoe Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Arapahoe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 79-58 to the Heritage Eagles on Tuesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Arapahoe lost, don't look at Reed Mccubbin. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. James Donahue was another key player, putting up six points.

Heritage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Gilloth out in front who went 7-for-8 en route to 25 points. The matchup was Gilloth's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trystan Rangel, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 18 points and seven assists.

Coming up, Arapahoe will square off against Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-61 win against Southlake Carroll on the 4th.
