Soccer Recap: Helena Comes Up Short

If Helena was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Bessemer City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Helena Huskies came up short against the Springville Tigers on Thursday, falling 8-1. One thing that didn't help the Huskies' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Kate Hendrix.

Helena's goal came courtesy of Hendrix, who's now up to seven this season.

Helena's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2. As for Springville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Coming up, Helena will take on McAdory at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Helena has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Springville, they will be playing at home against Leeds at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
