Banff extended their road winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Emaan Rizvi. The Bears came out on top against Humble Christian by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to Rizvi, who had 17 kills, eight digs, and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last ten times she's played.
In the three sets Banff was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 25-14, 25-9.
Banff found their leader in sophomore Rizvi, who had 17 kills, eight digs, and four aces. Amairah Kamal also set a new season-high mark in assists with 24. Another player making a difference was Miriam Neilsberg, who had ten kills, four blocks, and two aces.
Banff was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in 15 consecutive matchups.
Banff's record now sits at 19-4. As for Texas Christian, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Texas Christian suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Banff in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
