Basketball Recap: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. West Clermont Wolves
The Walnut Hills Eagles were the 37-35 winner over the West Clermont Wolves when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Walnut Hills suffered a tough 59-39 loss at the hands of the Wolves on Thursday. Walnut Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Layla Hale, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for West Clermont. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hale has scored all season. Paige Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Walnut Hills' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for West Clermont, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Walnut Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Clermont will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
