Baseball Game Preview: Armwood Hawks vs. Blake Yellow Jackets

Armwood is a perfect 7-0 against Blake since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Blake took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Armwood, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Armwood narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Robinson 9-8.

Javier Suniaga was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Armwood's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-15 when he doesn't). Christian Villanueva also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, Blake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Steinbrenner, falling 13-0.

Armwood's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15. As for Blake, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Everything went Armwood's way against Blake when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Armwood made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
