The Alexander Cougars fell victim to the South Paulding Spartans''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of the Spartans. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alexander in their matchups with South Paulding: they've now lost three in a row.
Thomas Winston threw for 113 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. Tenacious Taylor was his top target, rushing for 15 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Carlton Carrington, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Carrington was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Alexander's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
