Baseball Recap: Junction City Takes a Loss

Junction City suffered their closest defeat since March 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Magnet Cove Panthers by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Junction City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Hightower, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Hightower has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Reid Cates was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Junction City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Magnet Cove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will host Camden Fairview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Magnet Cove, they will take on Parkers Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
