Basketball Recap: Greer Middle College Blazers vs. Pickens Blue Flame

Greer Middle College kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Pickens Blue Flame, falling 69-47. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Pickens was led to victory by Brooks Dow and Issac Arnold. Dow shot 76% from the field on his way to 28 points and seven rebounds, while Arnold went 7-for-12 en route to 14 points along with six assists and six boards. Those 28 points gave Dow a new career-high. Ross Corn was another key player, putting up ten points.

Greer Middle College will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chesnee at 7:45 p.m. on December 3. As for Pickens, they have already played their next matchup, a 39-38 win against Travelers Rest on the 22nd.
