Basketball Game Preview: Snyder Tigers vs. Estacado Matadors

Snyder is 2-8 against Estacado since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Snyder Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Estacado Matadors at 6:15 p.m. Estacado took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Snyder, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Snyder turned things around against Big Spring on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Steers by a score of 55-46.

Meanwhile, Estacado was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 50-44 to Levelland. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Lobos are ranked 78th).

Estacado's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Snyder, their win bumped their record up to 7-19.

Snyder took a serious blow against Estacado when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-38. Can Snyder avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
