Eastern waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Jennings County Panthers by a score of 2-0.

Avery Smith paced Eastern's offense, picking up 13 kills. Smith got some help from Addison Smith and her 26 assists.

Despite the defeat, Jennings County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madelyn Maschino had four digs and two aces.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Jennings County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bedford North Lawrence on the 27th. As for Jennings County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Trinity Lutheran on the 27th.
