Football Game Preview: Lancaster Bruins vs. Camden Bulldogs

The Lancaster Bruins will head out to square off against the Camden Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster has given up an average of 31.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lancaster is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against South Pointe on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bruins took a blow against the Stallions, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Stallions are ranked second).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Camden's strategy against York on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bulldogs blew the Cougars out of the water with a 57-17 final score. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Camden's win came from a few key players Lancaster will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaiah Smith, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD, and also picked up 84 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 84 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Greyson Rimpf was another key player, throwing for 267 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt.

Camden's record is now 6-2. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Lancaster came up short against Camden in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 27-22. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
