Volleyball Recap: Layton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Morgan last Monday, Layton came back down to earth. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Viewmont Vikings on Tuesday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Layton ultimately came up short, they really made Viewmont work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-12, 21-25, 25-13.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Viewmont, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will host Copper Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Viewmont, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Davis at 6:30 p.m.
