Softball Recap: Centennial's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of seven wins, Centennial's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 6-1 to the Chaparral Firebirds. The Coyotes were not able to make up for their loss to the Firebirds from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Centennial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Wilton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-1. As for Chaparral, their record now sits at 11-13.

Looking ahead, Centennial will welcome Arizona College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Coyotes have won five straight at home, while the Knights won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Chaparral, they will venture away from home to challenge Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
