Basketball Game Preview: Neumann Celtics vs. Sunlake Seahawks

The Neumann Celtics and the Sunlake Seahawks will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Neumann picked up another tournament win on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 44-26 win over Weeki Wachee.

Neumann's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gracyn Crosby led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to six boards and five assists. Crosby continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Van De Wouw, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sunlake had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Buccaneers 51-26. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Sunlake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points per game. As for Neumann, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
