Basketball Recap: Ash Fork Takes a Loss

Ash Fork managed to keep up with Music Mountain until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Ash Fork Spartans lost 56-33 to the Music Mountain Warriors. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Ash Fork lost, don't look at Josue Tellez. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Tellez a new career-high. Miclo Ayala was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points.

Music Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Quasula out in front who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daelian Walema, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points.

Ash Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Music Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Ash Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-25 loss against Mogollon on the 11th. As for Music Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-58 defeat against Joseph City on the 11th.
