Flag Football Recap: Lathrop Skates Past Ripon with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lathrop walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 46-12 victory over the Ripon Indians. Considering the Spartans have won nine games by more than 21 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lathrop's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luz De Luna, who threw for 131 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, De Luna racked up 12 rushing yards, the most she's had since back in September. JaLeiyah Ray also helped with two scores in total.

Lathrop didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ray and Heiddy Camacho.

Lathrop pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.3 points over those games. As for Ripon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Lathrop nor Ripon have any future games scheduled.
