Matthew Moret Turns in Season-Best Performance

Matthew Moret produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Mount Vernon to the win on Thursday. Moret picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Moret must have Falls Church's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Moret last faced the Jaguars back in October of 2023, he picked up 97 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology was sadly handed a loss on Thursday, but Andrew Haydon did his best to prevent it. Haydon was unstoppable, making four total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Falls Church had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Grimsley it was a similar story. Grimsley threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Jaguars duked it out back in October of 2023.
