Baseball Recap: Buchtel Comes Up Short

Buchtel extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against the Firestone Falcons, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Griffins were not able to get on the board.

As for Firestone, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Considering they have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Firestone's part, they let Noah Liming and Malcolm Bufford run wild. Liming went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Bufford went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Bufford's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Uzcategui, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

While Buchtel had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
