Basketball Recap: Chapman Comes Up Short

Chapman lost against Blue Ridge back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The matchup between the Chapman Panthers and the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers didn't end well, with the Chapman Panthers falling 64-50. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Chapman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayden Humphries posted 19 points and three steals. That's the most points Humphries has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jamie Lemaster, who earned 11 points.

Ty'Korian Campbell was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds for Blue Ridge. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Hoover, who put up 12 points.

Chapman's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Blue Ridge, they moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Chapman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-67 defeat against Walhalla on the 17th. As for Blue Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-53 loss against Fountain Inn on the 19th.
