Robbinsdale Armstrong has no trouble against Roosevelt

The Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons won against the Roosevelt Teddies on Friday with 83 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Robbinsdale Armstrong put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 83-59 win. Winning may never get old, but Robbinsdale Armstrong sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Despite the defeat, Roosevelt had strong showings from Avery Wells, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Calvin Peterson, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Wells has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Obie Esparza, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Robbinsdale Armstrong is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Roosevelt, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robbinsdale Armstrong will take on Elk River at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Robbinsdale Armstrong's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Elk River has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Roosevelt, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Washburn at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. Roosevelt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Washburn is ranked tenth).
